Furniture Making

Welcome to Furniture Making!

This course provides students with a broad range of skills and knowledge of the furniture industry. Workplace health and safety and hand and power tools, are a major feature of this course.

In the workshop the students will be involved with projects such as making coffee tables and filing units.

Students have the opportunity to develop skills in a full range of cabinetmaking machinist processes.

Our Furniture Making Graduates...

Bailey, Kyle, Brandon, Jack and Kelly all studied Furniture Making in their time at Newman College. After graduating all five boys were successful in gaining full time Apprenticeships as Cabinet Makers at Designer Living Kitchens, Port Macquarie.

Furniture Making FAQ's

Kitchen manufacture has been the most likely career path but some students have progressed into architecture after completing some tech drawing skills and liking it. Students have also progressed into solid timber cabinetmaking, carpentry and shopfitting apprenticeships.

Not quite, but you’ll definetly have more kitchen building related skills than when you first started the course.

Some projects result in the completion of a piece of furniture for home, however, their are limitations this.
