Jamie O’Brien
NEWMAN 2013 GRADUATE
After completing a Cert III in Tourism, Travel and Events and graduating from Newman College, Jamie moved to Santa Ponca, Mallorca, Spain where she worked as a stewardess on board a cruise vessel travelling through the Mediterranean.

The local tourism industry is very supportive of our students. We partner with some of the accommodation facilities, the local attractions and the local council. In Year 11 the students complete many of their required hours helping out with local events
Yes, if you have a contact in the tourism industry.
Yes. This is a new course to Newman College and in the past two years of the course, we have had been successful in securing School-based Traineeships with Rydges.
The course introduces students to the tourism industry, how to book and sell tourism products and services. In addition the students are introduced to Australia and the world as a tourism destination. Where to go, how to get there and what to do there.
This is a qualification that focuses on developing skills that will be beneficial and relevant within all industries. Tourism compliments many of the other VET subjects, such as Hospitality, Business Services and Retail Services. Furthermore, it exposes students to many of the wonderful places within the world.
